Bianco 2024 Producer|CielloAn entry level selection that immediately claims the plaudit of best priced orange wine in the house. This is Falanghina with a mixture of the grapes direct pressed (like a regular white) and some left to macerate on the skins (a la orange) leaving a golden glow and just a modest mouthful of grippy tannins. Ripe, quince y stone fruits and smoky nutty flavours jostle together in loose harmony. Very tasty stuff and such bang for buck.

Depending on each vessel the juice sits in contact with the skins for between 8 and 15 days before being run off and fed back into the vessels and left untouched for between 4 to 6 months

Some real finesse on show here: the grapes come from three separate parcels of low-yielding 40-70 year old vines

The grapes are co-fermented in steel tanks and remain there for 8 months before bottling

The soils here are the same decomposed granite (referred to locally as ‘gore’) one might find in the coveted Cornas AOC
