A superb pair of Cast George II Silver Candlesticks by John Cafe 1749 Silversmith_William & James Priestenquire A superb pair of cast George II silver candlesticks by John Cafe, London 1749. With square bases shaped and stepped with acanthus form corners. The fluted columns rising above a circular knop to a square knop with matching acanthus decoration to the corners. The capitals with two raised bands above a central plain band. The original sconces are similarly decorated with the cast acanthus pattern. Both candlesticks are elegantly chased with
